棕剛玉是以鋁巖土、焦碳（無煙煤）、鐵屑 為主要原料，在電弧爐內(nèi)經(jīng)高溫熔煉結(jié)晶而成，它具有硬度高、韌性大、顆粒鋒銳、磨削力強(qiáng)、耐高溫、效率高等特點(diǎn)，是以優(yōu)質(zhì)的磨料磨具材料和高級(jí)耐火材料。用它制成的磨具，還用于磨削抗張強(qiáng)度較高的金屬，可切割、磨削各種通用鋼材、碳素鋼、一般合金剛，可鍛青鋼、硬青鋼等，也可以作為高級(jí)耐火材料，廣泛用于鋼鐵、化工及其它行業(yè)。

Brown fused alumina is fused and crystalized under high temperature from a mixture of bauxite and other raw material. It is characterized by its high hardness ,good toughness and sharp shapein size. Abrasives tools made of it are suitable for grinding metals of high-tensile strength such as carbon steel, general-purpose alloy steel, annealed malleable iron and hard bronze; etc.It also can be used as refractory materials.
