He delves into the complexities of streaming and why the economic value of a stream is far more important than the number of streams generated by a song. The payout to an artist varies territory to territory and player to player. Spotify, Apple & Amazon will dominate the market, particularly as AI and voice activated speakers become more prevalent. Metadata will soon need to become dynamic to cope with this development.

Dr. David Court

Australian creative industries business strategist David Court argues the case for growing a business. He outlines the various business structures found in the creative industries and the prevalence of the “Lone Wolf” approach, why it’s both attractive and a millstone. Drawing on his experience in film production, David advocates the distributed wise crowd approach to critical decision making in creative and business projects.

Dr. Chris Stevens

Dr. Stevens is a respected psychologist whose speciality is creativity. He describes how stress and other lifestyle factors boost or drain creativity, and offers suggestions on sleep hygiene, exercise, and diet. Terry McBride, on Nettwerk’s Business Model

Nettwerk CEO Terry McBride outlines his successful business model which had its genesis in a white paper he wrote in 2007 called “Meet the Millennials”. The report proved to be a key turning point for his company. He built up Nettwerk’s publishing division, sold it and invested the proceeds in Masters. The company has not looked back.
